JOEL
PAYNE
Joel got
his start sneaking into the backlot of Universal Studios with
his student films under arm. Having worked as a prop and set
painter for movies like Jurassic Park, The Flintstones, and
Titanic, Payne realized the potential future of 3D and in
1993 landed his first game gig working on the very first Heroes
Of Might and Magic He contributed to that first effort
as both artist and contributing designer, now on its 6th sequel.
In 1995
he was one of the youngest game designers to develop a Rapid
Digital Set Creation process for Sinbad an interactive movie
published with Corel. Joel worked with Disney Imagineers as
a ride track and environment artists for the ride the Virtual
Jungle Cruise and later was the sole asset creative force
behind Steven Spielberg's Sky
Pirate Ride in which he constructed the art, animation
and composed the interactive soundtrack.
In 2002
Joel Joined FoundationImaging designing 3D sets for Star
Ship Troopers and Max
Steel as a Team leader. Added to the
IMDA, Payne scored music for the feature film "Simple
Gifts" and worked with Stan Winston scoring "Trakk"
later partnering with Mr Winston for game development. Joel
has several triple "A" titles throughout his 17
year career as a game artist including Baldur's
Gate Dark Alliance, Mortal
Kombat: Shaolin Monks, and most recently Silent
Hill: Homecoming. After 32 projects as a Veteran CG Artist,
Game Designer,Composer and Art Director, Joel embarks on forging
a new path in innovative entertainment.
